About

I am a contemporary fine artist and experimental printmaker who is known for pushing the boundaries of traditional printmaking by fusing traditional methods with modern technology. With a background in photography, I have a unique perspective on art that is reflected in my work.
Born and raised in Blackpool, I developed an early interest in art and pursued my passion by studying photography at Blackpool School of Arts. During my studies, I honed my skills in various mediums, including: photography, 3D design, and printmaking.
After completing my formal education, I have since embarked on a journey of experimentation and exploration, constantly seeking new ways to push the limits of traditional printmaking. I began to incorporate modern technology into my work, such as digital printing and laser cutting, whilst still maintaining the traditional techniques that have been used for centuries. I feel that this mix of techniques allows my work to stand out amongst the crowd and presents a fresh view on how printmaking is usually approached.
My work is heavily influenced by my background in photography, and I often use photographic elements in my prints. My art is characterized by bold colours, intricate designs, and a sense of movement that draws the viewer in.
Art for me is more than just a profession, it’s a way of life. Creating art provides me with a therapeutic outlet to cope with the challenges of the world around me. Each piece I create is a solution to a problem, an expression of my thoughts and emotions.
With 18 years of experience as a 3D workshop, photography, and printmaking technician at Blackpool School of Arts, I have dedicated my career to exploring the intersection of traditional printmaking techniques with cutting-edge technologies. Throughout my time at the School, I have focused predominantly on printmaking, constantly pushing the boundaries of my practice to create innovative and unique pieces. By integrating new technologies with traditional techniques, I have developed a dynamic approach to printmaking. My passion for my work and dedication to the art department has made me an integral part of the Blackpool School of Arts community, and I look forward to continuing to inspire and educate future generations of artists.
